TED

2009 November 7

I was going to post about this way back when, but then WordPress read my mind and decided to talk about it before me, so I couldn’t. I guess now is a good time.

TED, which stands for Technology, Entertainment, and Design, is an organization which hold annual conferences (which feature different people speaking of performing, their “things” often referred to as TED Talks) in different locations devoted to “Ideas Worth Spreading”.

It’s very rare to find a source of entertainment which provides reliable quality. The webcomic xkcd (which I’ll post about later) does, but it’s one of very few. Another is TED.

The wonderful thing about TED is that it doesn’t guarantee that what it will show you, but rather that it will be entertaining. You can find all sorts of stuff, but whatever it is, you know it’ll be good. You can find music, comedy, technology, dance, and so on.

Many famous people have attended, including Bill Clinton, Gordon brown, Bill Gates, Sergey Brin and Larry Page (co-founders of Google), and David Pogue.

And the best part is, they’ve got tons of videos, and audio clips. It’ll keep you busy for hours. Don’t complain to me when you haven’t finished your homework.
